Agriculture Story

I am constantly hearing how times are way different from times long ago. My elders are always telling me how the youth these days have it so easy.

They say we are getting lazy because all of the new advancements in technology we have. Instead of using a splitting maul we use hydraulic wood splitters, and instead of using horses to make hay we now have tractors with cabs and air conditioners. One story that sticks out most in my memory is my grandpa telling me after I got out of his and my grandmas swimming pool he told me that when he learned to swim, they didn’t have pools and floating devices. When he learned to swim it was in the creek and the method was to lead the horse into the creek and hold on to its tail. The horse was his life guard and also his swimming instructor. As the horse would walk around he would hold the tail and kick his feet. He did this so much that not very long after doing that he learned to swim on his own.

Everything he did when he was younger had to do with agriculture. All around the world agriculture was people’s lives. Now days people that live in these big cities have no clue what agriculture is.
