Hay Crew

Time 1950’s.   Traditional neighborhood hay crew in the Sweet Springs Valley of Monroe County. at Valley View Farm, home of the Dransfield farm.  Though hay bales are evident in the background, this crew was working with loose hay and had probably just formed a hay stack.  How do we know?  Look at the long handled pitch forks carried by two of the crew and the loose hay on the over sized wagon bed.   Do the pitchforks have three tines.  If they do, this long handled pitch fork was a standard hay stack building tool.  Dransfields and Wicklines most probably form the crew.
